Malaysia’s manufacturing sector reached a record milestone in June 2026, generating RM177.0 billion in sales value—a 9.8% year-on-year increase that brought cumulative first-half sales past the RM1.03 trillion mark. This robust performance was overwhelmingly anchored by export-oriented industries, particularly the Electrical & Electronics (E&E) and computer, electronic, and optical product sub-sectors, which expanded 18.7% and 20.7% respectively amid the sustained global technology cycle. Rebounds across domestic-oriented production, such as motor vehicle manufacturing and processed foods, further reinforced sector resilience. Supported by rising sales productivity per worker and steady total employment, Malaysia’s manufacturing ecosystem continues to serve as a high-value growth engine for the national economy.
