French energy management and automation leader Schneider Electric has announced plans to establish a Southeast Asia Training Hub in Malaysia, reinforcing the country’s growing importance in the regional technology, semiconductor, and data centre sectors.

The new facility will provide advanced technical training for industry partners, customers, and semiconductor manufacturers across Southeast Asia. Training programmes will focus on energy management systems, power infrastructure, data centre solutions, and digital technologies that support the rapidly expanding AI and semiconductor industries.

The investment comes as Southeast Asia’s data centre capacity is projected to triple by 2030, with Malaysia emerging as a preferred destination for global technology investments from major companies including Microsoft, Amazon, and Google. Malaysia also plays a critical role in the global semiconductor supply chain, accounting for approximately 13% of worldwide semiconductor testing and packaging activities.

As demand for AI infrastructure and high-performance computing continues to rise, Schneider Electric’s training hub is expected to strengthen regional talent development, improve energy efficiency capabilities, and support the sustainable growth of data centres and advanced manufacturing facilities throughout Southeast Asia.
